What is microblading?
Microblading is a form of semi permanent makeup to create fine natural hair strokes using a sterile tool. Pigment is deposited manually with a blade just below the epidermis, into the most shallow part of the dermis. This causes a natural “hair like” look that will fade over time unlike traditional body tattooing that penetrates deep into the dermis for a more permanent result. No machine is used.
How long does it last?
Microblading can last between 1-3 years depending on skin type, aftercare, and lifestyle. For best results 2 initial appointments are required (see booking info) and any additional touch ups are based on clients preferences. Oily skin types may have more fading then dry skin types. Skin care can also affect longevity so it is best that you avoid eyebrow area when doing exfoliants or peels. Results vary person to person. I cannot guarantee results.
What to expect after my appointment?
Immediately after your cosmetic tattoo, you may feel minimal discomfort the first 24 hours. You may be red but this should not interfere with work or social activities. Your eyebrows will feel very dark and bold but will fade 30% shades lighter in the next couple weeks.
How long does it take to heal?
The total healing process is 6-8 weeks. Healing is different on everyone and it is very important to follow good aftercare (aftercare page linked) for best results.
The brows may look like dandruff or dry skin while healing. They may be itchy but do not itch or pick as this will interfere with healing.
Some find that after the 6 weeks the color has faded too light, please note that this is normal and we will go darker at your touch up appointment if needed!
Does it hurt?
This depends on the your tolerance for pain but I have found that while it isn’t pain free, it is tolerable to most clients. I do use a topical numbing agent before and during for your comfort. Keep in mind, it is your face and naturally a very sensitive area.
How long does the appointment take?
The appointment from start to finish is about two hours. We will do the consultation at your appointment. The blading itself takes about 30 mins.
How do you determine the right color for my brows?
I have a 30+ shades of pigment I use so we can mix and modify to find the perfect shade for you. When finding the right color we go by the skins undertone, natural hair color (at the root) and the desired dark/lightness that you prefer. The color we do your brows is whatever your natural hair color is, this is so we can create the most natural looking brows possible! And yes I do blondes and redheads too!
What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?
Avoid tanning, working out, and blood thinners 72 hours before appointment.
Avoid Botox and chemical peels 4 weeks prior to appointment.
If you wax or thread your brows, please do so 3-4 days before your appointment.
It is recommended that you do not consume alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Can I bring a friend/family member with me to the appointment?
Yes, but no children please.
